Saturday we walked some more around the town amd did a tour of the temples, there are so many but we saw the nicest ones, and had lunch at a local place.
The Temple grounds have some lovely flowers, so i thought I would join Mum and John in taking pics of them....!
While walking around we met a 6'7" guy from the States who had lived in Thailand for 25 years and not had his hair or beard cut for even longer!
Last night we spent the evening at the Saturday evening market, full of lovely hand made crafts.
We ate there and then went for drinks after.
While supping on our cold beers there noticed many people spilling out of the bars and restaurants and onto the road looking up at the sky, never one to miss out I joined them to ask what they were gazing at.
'The lunar eclipse' they replied, the last one until 2014.
How exciting, I was joined by Mum and John and soon we were all in the road (beers in hand) trying to peep at the eclipse through the clouds, typical, it was the first cloudy night since I arived.
Today we met at breakfast and then we went to book a day trip to an Elephant park on Thutrsday, it is a sanctuary for Elephants and other animals including 70 dogs...
We found a great place on the side of the street for lunch it was run by a family of 4 and was literally from the back of their truck. The Mother cooked noodle and veg dish on a wok powered by a gas cylinder, we were given a cup of fresh water each in bright plastic cups and the family were so happy to have us there.
Dining out in style!
They decided to go on a river trip later and I will meet up again and we will wander around the 'Sunday street market'
